Life at Jasper puts you in the center of excitement every month. December brings a variety of must attend events to the City. We’ve rounded up a few must-attend events that include comedy, calligraphy and cooking. Check out our top picks and start marking your calendars:
January 1-5, KALEIDOSCOPE – A Winter Holiday Spectacular. Performed in the round in a 350-seat Big Top Circus Tent at The Crossing, the beauty of Kaleidoscope is the intimacy and immediacy of the one-ring circus.
January 1-20, Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square. The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink presented by Kaiser Permanente is back for its 17th magical season of outdoor skating and holiday festivities in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
January 1-26, Glow. Step into the art and science of light at The Exploratorium and recharge your winter wonder.
January 1-31, Illuminate SF Festival of Light. The annual display includes dozens of dramatic, eco-friendly light art installations accessible by public transit and admission-free.
January 2, Downtown First Thursdays. Grab your friends and head downtown for DFT on Market Street & 2nd Street. Get ready for more live music, food, drag, DJs, free all-ages activities to fill up the night.
January 2, First Thursdays at SFMOMA. From 12 noon–8 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, Bay Area residents can enjoy SFMOMA’s galleries filled with lively and inspiring art — for free.
January 4, CorePower Vinyasa Flow at The Crossing. Enjoy a free CorePower Yoga class every 2nd Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm. Get ready to stretch, sweat, and find your flow.
January 6-February 3, Annual Hearts in SF Display. View the 2025 ‘Hearts in SF’ sculptures at the Ferry Building! Designed by over 20 talented artists who donated their time in support of the SFGHF.
January 12, Hot Chocolate 15k/5k. The course will take you by some star attractions in Golden Gate Park and along SF’s Ocean Beach, and periodically there will be “Sweet Stations,” where you can grab an energizing bite of marshmallows and chocolate.
January 12, The Art of Flow: Continuous Line Drawing. Join artist and instructor Meagan Burns Continuous Line Drawing at the San Francisco Ferry Building, an immersive, half-day workshop open to all skill levels.
January 13-20, Martin Luther King, Jr. Festival and Parade. SF hosts a week-long festival to celebrate the life and work of MLK. It features a parade, film festival, arts festival, health & wellness festival, and more.
January 16 – February 2, SF Sketchfest. One of the largest comedy festivals and San Francisco events in January is SF Sketchfest. It features comedy sketches and performances by well-known comedians.
January 23-26, FOG Design + Art Fair. Celebrate and explore the work of some of the most innovative contributors to the worlds of design and visual arts.
January 25, Vina Thakkar Patel, The Spice Collector’s Cookbook. Stop by the Foodwise Classroom at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market for a cooking demo. Vina Patel comes from a family of spice traders.
January 26, Lunar New Year Calligraphy. Celebrate the Year of the Snake by watching a calligraphy demonstration and receiving a personalized red paper scroll with Lunar New year well wishes.
