SF Eater recently had a wonderful Michelin rated restaurant article all should explore.

This year, three new one-star restaurants from the San Francisco Bay Area have been added to the Guide, bringing the total to 85 restaurants with Michelin stars in California.

San Francisco and wine country have stars awarded to 51 restaurants, the highest concentration of three-star restaurants, and nine Green Star designations for “outstanding eco-friendly commitments.”

So where can you find these restaurants that have set themselves apart from the rest? We have compiled a short list of nearby rated restaurants below.

Angler – 0.7 miles from Jasper, located at 132 The Embarcadero

Angler serves a seafood-focused menu where every dish is touched by live fire in some way, with views of an expansive wood burning hearth and the San Francisco Bay. (1 star)

Benu – 0.4 miles from Jasper, located at 22 Hawthorne St.

Benu offers a fixed menu that features a wide variety of seafood and vegetables, a few meat courses, and some sweets. (3 stars)

Aphotic – 0.6 miles from Jasper, located at 816 Folsom St.

Chef Peter Hemsley set out to establish a best-practice seafood restaurant with transparency and traceability as core objectives, all while delivering unparalleled quality and creative intrigue for the benefit of our guests. The restaurant also has a Green Star designation. (1 star)

Saison – 0.7 miles from Jasper, located at 178 Townsend St.

Saison is an open wood fire restaurant emphasizing the bounty of California’s evolving terroir, where Executive Chef Richard Lee crafts nuanced flavors with intention informed by his Chinese heritage and passion for the Bay Area. (2 stars)
