Jasper and Your Canine Companion
Jasper is a great place for you and your four-legged companion to call home. Whether you are enjoying the amenities that the building has to offer or exploring the neighborhood and city beyond, Jasper doesn’t disappoint.
Staying at home. Whether lounging around your residence while enjoying the breathtaking urban skyline or relaxing by the cozy fireplace in the community lobby, Jasper is a great place to call home. And when you do decided to explore the neighborhood, there are a number of venues for you and your pup to experience.
Just a few short blocks from Jasper, you’ll find Rincon Hill Dog Park. The popular park is located at the northwest corner of Beale and Bryant Streets (486 Beale Street) and consists of a small open public plaza, state historical plaque, and off-leash small and large dog areas. The off-leash dog areas are open for public use every day from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. thanks to neighborhood volunteers who help to operate and maintain the park! There is even an area so smaller dogs can play with those that are more their size. You can learn more about the Rincon Hill Dog Park on their website, Facebook page and join the fun at this Instagram location. Be sure to check for Covid updates.
Explore the waterfront. Just a short walk down Harrison and you come out at the Embarcadero, with its amazing scenery and urban activity. Take your friend and explore Rincon Park or travel a little bit farther and explore the energy of the vibrant Ferry Building. It’s a beautiful setting and you and your dog will love it.
After a play in the park or a walk along the waterfront, it’s time to get some doggie products and Woodlands Pet Shop is your one-stop shop for all your animal companions’ needs! Located at the corner of Beale and Folsom, this family-owned pet company specializes in wholesome food. They have foods and treats with no artificial ingredients, unspecified byproducts, or fillers. They carry a wide variety of foods for cats and dogs, including Nutrisource, Open Farm (from humanely raised sources), and Primal (a local raw food company). They even have locally sourced meat grinds from their own Woodlands Market; these meat grinds are a great way to introduce raw food to your dog or cat’s diet.
They also stock a variety of supplements to help cognitive or hip and joint support, bladder care, anxiety and more, as well as an assortment of litter and litter boxes and a large selection of toys, beds, and grooming products. You can learn more about the Woodlands Pet Shop on their website, Facebook page and Instagram feed. Be sure to check for Covid updates.
