Must Attend Events in September
As fall approaches in San Francisco, Jasper puts you in the center of excitement. We’ve rounded up a few must attend events this month around the area that include plenty of opportunities to get moving and grooving, cocktail crafting, evenings under the stars, and more. Map out your month here:
September 1, Yoga Day at the Ballpark. Join the Giants and Janet Stone for a post game yoga session on the field, plus snag a Giants Yoga Tank Top.
September 1-29, Union Square Live. This is a series of summer concerts and dances that include jazz, blues, folk, Latin, tango, rock, swing, and even Hawaiian.
Thru September 2, Andy Warhol – From A to B and Back Again. Don’t miss the art event of the summer at SFMOMA.
September 3, Happy Hour Yoga at the Palace Hotel. Head to the Palace each Tuesday in September for an hour long yoga class, followed by sponsored drinks in GC Lounge.
September 3 & 17, Bird Walks. Birders of all levels are welcome to join this educational walk series from 7:30-8:30am at the Salesforce Transit Center Children’s Play Area.
September 4, Flow & Jo. Join 111 Minna Gallery for our monthly complimentary 60 minute vinyasa flow yoga class and hot cup of joe courtesy of Red Door Coffee.
September 7, Hands-on Class with El Tesoro Tequila. Craft inventive, zero-waste cocktails featuring the summer’s best produce at the CUESA Kitchen.
September 7, Avocado Con. An avo-lanche of green goodness is rolling into SoMa StrEat Food Park.
September 7-8, Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival. Offers parades, dancers, arts & crafts, food & drink, and live music on Grant Avenue.
September 8, Giants Race. This waterfront race includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K, kids’ race, and a family relay that all finish on the field at Oracle Park.
September 12, Bake Sale. Gather your pastry-loving friends and colleagues for Bluestem’s second annual Bake Sale where San Francisco’s top pastry chefs will Bake the World a Better Place!
September 13, Salesforce Park Salsa Dance Party. Free Salsa lesson and live Salsa music every 2nd Friday from 6-8pm in the park, at the Main Plaza.
September 15, Yoga x Mimosas. Find your zen with CorePower Yoga and let the bottomless mimosas flow at SPARK Social.
September 19, Culture for Community Free Day. SFMOMA is opening the museum free of charge all day. When you RSVP, you’ll be entered to win a one-year SFMOMA membership.
September 20-22, Oktoberfest by the Bay. Bring plenty of cash to enjoy beer, bratwurst, live music, and people dancing in costume at Pier 35.
September 21, Opera at the Ballpark. Snag a front-row seat under the stars during this live simulcast from the stage of the War Memorial Opera House to the new video-board in Oracle Park.
September 21, California Vegetarian Food Festival. Offering speakers, organic cooking demos, fitness activities, a kids’ area, live music, food samples, and meals for sale outdoors.
September 22, Golden Gate Bridge Swim. Watch swimmers dive in at Ft. Point Beach and cross the bay in the 3K Golden Gate Bridge Swim.
September 24, Oktoberfest. Kick off the Oktoberfest season with the Giants and enjoy some cultural entertainment, food and beverage at this always popular pre-game event.
September 27, Swing in the Sky. Shimmytown brings a live band and professional Lindy Hop dance instructors for all levels from 5-7pm in the Salesforce Transit Center Main Plaza.
September 27 – 28, Questival. This 24-hour race begins with a check-in party at Crissy Field. Your team of 2 to 6 people completes the challenges assigned by a smartphone app to win prizes.
September 28, Bottomless Oktoberfest. Break out your lederhosen, don a flirty dirndl, and drink in the celebration with music, games & competitions, food trucks, and bottomless beer at SPARK Social.
September 28, On Art Run: San Francisco at 111 Minna. The On Art Run returns to San Francisco, showcasing the powerful intersection of art and running!
Thru October 6, Concerts in the park. Golden Gate Park Band plays a variety of music (classical, marches, opera, swing, and show tunes) at Spreckels Temple of Music in Golden Gate Park.
Thru October 27, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Hear music concerts and watch dance performances outdoors.
