Must Attend Events in June
Summer is almost here and the local event scene is heating up. We’ve rounded up a few must attend events coming up in the city that definitely need to be added to your social calendar:
The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival has a full month of entertainment planned with Circus Bella, The Jamming Nachos, Litquake and more!
A ticket to San Francisco Beer & Music Festival on June 3 lets you sample 50 craft beers, with DJs, bands, and food trucks at SOMA StrEat Food Park.
Union Square Live is a series of summer concerts and dances, and even a circus act in Union Square from June 4-July 19.
Enjoy Concerts in the Park as Golden Gate Park Band plays a variety of music (classical, marches, opera, swing, and show tunes) at Spreckels Temple of Music in Golden Gate Park from June 4-October 8.
Attend more than 40 big-name shows at the San Francisco Jazz Festival at four different venues from June 6-18.
Eat your way through the best of the season with 40 restaurants and 20 spirit companies, wineries and breweries during CUESA’s Summer Celebration on Sunday, June 11 at the Ferry Building.
Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon on June 11 features a 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz Island to the St. Francis Yacht Club, an 18-mile bike ride, and an 8-mile trail run through Golden Gate Recreational Area.
Attend studio tours and 150 events during SF Design Week on June 14-22, which includes subjects from fashion and human-centered design to international architecture and tech inventions.
Join Epic Steak’s Annual High on the Hog event on June 17 with porkcentric faire, pinot noir tastings, and live music. All proceeds will benefit Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The magazine Best of San Francisco is throwing a big party with unlimited food, cocktails, wine, and dancing at James R. Herman Cruise Terminal, Pier 27 on June 22.
The Chocolate and Art Show features artists, live body painting, live music, face-painting, and free chocolate at SOMArts Cultural Center from June 22-23.
Celebrate LGBT pride by attending SF Pride at the Civic Center both days (June 24-25) and watching the giant Sunday Pride Parade at 10:30 a.m. on Market Street followed by a VIP Party 2 to 5 p.m.
Take in the sweet sounds of the SFOpera at AT&T Park on June 30 at 7:30pm, simulcast live from the War Memorial Opera House.
Explore Alexander Calder’s Motion Lab at SFMOMA through September 10. Calder revolutionized art in the early 1930s by introducing actual movement into his sculptural and pictorial compositions.
