4 ways to keep those healthy New Year’s resolutions local
It’s that time of year once again – time to make resolutions to ensure that 2017 is the best year to date. If your goals include an active, healthy lifestyle you’re in luck; SoMa has a number of venues which embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. We thought we might be able to help you keep those resolutions close to home with these helpful, local tips.
Pressed Juicery Comes to SoMa. The juice scene is hot, hot, hot but Pressed Juicery is branching out to cool things down a bit with their Freeze, a vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free frozen treat made from the ingredients found in Pressed juices. It will be available in four delicious flavors (vanilla, chocolate, greens and fruits) and has all the healthy toppings you have come to expect in a healthy food setting.
Did you know? The popular tech-savvy active wear company lives and steps in our neighborhood at 405 Howard! So strap on that bracelet, connect to a few friends to keep you honest and join a local Fitbit class in the New Year. To give you an idea of what to expect, here’s a sampling of a few past 2016 Pop-ups in SF locations:
October 22 – Step to Stronger, Led by Fitbit Local Ambassadors Jeremy Falk & Caroline Jordan
November 4 – Ballpark Bootcamp, Led by Fitbit Local Ambassadors Jeremy Falk & Caroline Jordan
December 3 – Festively Fit Holiday Bootcamp, Led by Fitbit Local Ambassador Caroline Jordan
Eat better by grabbing a warm grain bowl at SweetGreen! The Second Street eatery is among the recent succession of healthy fast-casual chains to hit South of Market, which over the past year have included fully-automated Eatsa and the first Bay Area locations of locally-sourced, seasonal cafeteria, Lemonade. Make the OG (Original Gangster) your go-to post workout meal at Bowl’D Acai or try Picnic on Third where you can find Paleo and Gluten Free muffins.
Take your Zen outdoors. Whether you plan to catch Yoga Day at AT&T Park, Power Yoga by The Pad Studios during spring, summer and fall or a free Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class with certified yoga instructor, Diana Gradstein of The Mobile Mat, The Yard at Mission Rock (minutes away) always has fun, active events on the calendar. For year-round offerings, Outdoor Yoga SF takes your favorite yoga classes to beautiful outdoor locations all over the City, where you can catch a sunset, feel the fresh air and grass beneath you or hear the waves. Watch for a Pop-up event in your neighborhood.
Here’s to a happy, healthy 2017.
Sincerely Yours
