From Sutro Baths to SOAK and a few spots in-between

The dream of the Sutro Baths was to provide a healthy and recreational swimming facility for thousands of city residents. The classic Greek portal opened to a massive glass enclosure with seven swimming pools and soon became a popular recreational and educational site, drawing large crowds from across the entire city.

Inspired by the Sutro Baths, SOAK has been reframed the experience for a modern generation that cares about sustainability. Coming soon to Mission Bay near AT&T Park, SOAK is an ecological urban bathhouse that will be housed within five shipping containers and will offer “the meeting point between personal wellness and social vitality”. SOAK’s five containers will offer two hot pools, a sauna, a rooftop solarium, and a patio garden. Capacity will be set at 25 occupants and will be operated with a reservation system.

Can’t wait for SOAK? Not a problem. Planning your next well-deserved day of pampering is easy with this list of day spas:
